US Envoy to Visit Member Nations of Nuke Talks

The U.S. special representative for North Korea policy will visit South Korea, Japan, China and Russia next week.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in a news conference Friday that Stephen Bosworth will visit the member states of the six-way nuclear talks early next week to discuss ways to get the negotiations back on track.

Bosworth, who was also present at the conference, said it remains unclear whether he will meet with North Korean officials during his upcoming trip.

Bosworth added that special envoy to nuclear talks, Sung Kim, will be accompanying him and that the two will exert their best efforts to yield progress after holding extensive conversations with the member countries of the nuclear talks.

Earlier this month, Bosworth visited North Korea along with a group of U.S. experts. He said that at the time that the North is inclined toward continued dialogue with the United States.

He added that he believes Pyongyang recognizes the benefits from engaging with the outside world and seems prepared to move ahead.
