Rival political parties have tentatively agreed to vote on the South Korea-U.S. free trade agreement during a special session of the National Assembly in April.

Representatives of three parties of the Assembly's Foreign Affairs, Trade and Unification Committee reached the agreement Wednesday, and plan to send it to the leadership of each party for approval.

The ruling and opposition parties also agreed to urge the government to submit to parliament compensatory measures for sectors that will suffer from the FTA.
