Japanese media say the U.S. special envoy on North Korea has expressed his will to visit Pyongyang at an early date.

Kyodo News said Stephen Bosworth expressed the wish during talks with bipartisan Japanese lawmakers in Tokyo on Friday.

The envoy also urged the communist state not to fire a ballistic missile, or even a satellite as Pyongyang claims it will.
