U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says North Korea would be threatening regional peace and security if it seeks to launch a satellite or a missile.

Ban told reporters at the U.N. headquarters in New York Friday that he’s concerned about the North’s recent moves suggesting it might launch a satellite or long-range missile.

He said he hopes Pyongyang will abide by U.N. Security Council regulations which forbid the North from conducting any further nuclear tests or activities related to ballistic missiles.

Ban also urged the North to return to the six-way nuclear talks and fully and faithfully implement its previously agreed-upon commitments.
