G20 Ministers to Jointly Fight Global Crisis

Finance ministers of the Group of 20 nations have agreed to make steady efforts to overcome the global financial crisis.

In a Saturday meeting in London ahead of the G20 financial summit slated for April 2, the ministers also pledged to promote free trade and investment and fight protectionism, warning against protective trade policies in certain countries.

After the meeting, they and the chiefs of central banks issued a statement that the countries will jointly cooperate to restore the global economy and reform the global financial system.

The eight-point statement also included an agreement to seek to expand monetary supply.
