Mainichi: Japan Preparing for NK Missile Launch

A Japanese daily says Tokyo will draft measures next week in response to a possible North Korean launch of a long-range missile.

The Mainichi Shimbun said Friday that the Japanese government is likely to decide next week whether it will issue interception orders in the event Pyongyang launches a long-range ballistic missile toward Japanese territory or its waters.

But the report said there is little risk of a North Korean missile heading toward Japan, adding that Tokyo is still determining the threat level posed by the North’s planned launch.
