Britain Denounces NK for Ceasing Cooperation with IAEA

The British government has joined international calls on North Korea to promptly return to the six-way nuclear talks.

Britain's Foreign Office on Wednesday called North Korea's decision to stop cooperating with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) "completely unjustified," adding that the U.N. Security Council had made a "robust but proportionate response to the recent North Korean launch."

The Foreign Office stressed that the North must comply with its international obligations, particularly, in its cooperation with the IAEA in ending its nuclear programs, in order to take its full place as a member of the international community. The Office said the six-way nuclear talks offer the best means to end the North’s nuclear program.
