'US to Pinpoint NK Firms to Face Asset Freeze'

A Japanese daily says the United States will soon submit to the U.N. Sanctions Committee a list of North Korean companies that will be subject to an asset freeze.

The Yomiuri Shimbun said Wednesday that the U.S. will present the committee with a list of eleven North Korean firms whose assets will be frozen.

According to Yomiuri, most of the firms on the list are trading companies and financial institutes that are allegedly involved in importing goods related to the development of ballistic missiles or the financing of such imports.

The daily added that the U.N. Sanctions Committee will designate by Friday of next week firms that will face further sanctions.
