The Korea Communications Commission (KCC) announced that Professor Lee Nae-Chan at Hansung University and Dr. Nam Sang-yeol at the Korea Information Society Development Institute have been re-elected as vice chairs of the Working Party on Communication Infrastructures and Services Policy (WPICISP).
The Organization on Economic Cooperation and Development arrived at this decision at the WPCISP and the Working Party of the Information Economy (WPIE) meetings that were held back-to-back on December 14-15 and December 16-17 respectively in Paris, France.
The WPCISP and WPIE are working parties under the OECD Information, Computer and Communications Policy (ICCP) committee. The WPCISP focuses on discussions of regulatory and policy issues in information communication technology (ICT) infrastructure and wired/wireless ICT services. The WPIE concentrates on the social impact of ICT and socio-economic development using the technology.
The KCC plans to utilize new chair committee to be more proactive in international organization activities in the broadcast communication field, thereby taking the lead in global policy development.
