UNDP Wrapping up Seoul Operations

The United Nations Development Program’s (UNDP) Seoul office will be concluding its operations by year-end.

The move comes after South Korea joined the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) earlier this month.

With the shutdown of UNDP operations in Seoul, the UNDP sign and the UN flag were removed in a ceremony on Tuesday at the UNDP office in Seoul.

The UNDP first began its operations in South Korea in 1963. It has provided a wide variety of assistance in the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors.

The organization also supported the nation’s education, science and technology, industrial, environmental and social programs as well.
