Chinese Tourists Travel to Mt.Geumgang

Chinese tourists continue to travel to North Korea despite requests not to do so by the South Korean government amid worsening inter-Korean relations resulting from the “Cheonan” incident.

Some 30 Chinese tourists who booked their tours through seven Chinese travel agencies have reportedly begun their North Korean itineraries.

The tourists on the six-day packages will be taken to Pyeongyang, Wonsan, Mount Geumgang, Oegeumgang and Gaeseong. The one-day package to Oegeumgang, just outside the Mount Geumgang resort, includes areas developed by Hyundai Asan including Guryeongyeon, Sangpaldam and Samilpo.
