China's Assistant Foreign Minister Hu Zhengyue, who is visiting North Korea, says China will enhance relations with North Korea, reconfirming its strong ties with the North.

China's official Xinhua News Agency on Friday reported that Hu told vice chairman of the North's Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly Yang Hyung-sup that Chinese leaders consider its relations with the North as very important.

Hu also said that China's policy remains unchanged, in which it seeks to enhance and improve friendly relations and bilateral cooperation with the North.

Yang responded that bilateral ties improved due to efforts of both nations' leaders, adding the North will expand exchange and cooperation with China in all sectors.
