The Education Ministry is refuting Libya’s claims that South Korean textbooks show Libya in a bad light.

Libya has been accusing the textbooks of being partly responsible for recent diplomatic tensions between the two sides.

The ministry says that it has conducted a review of some one-thousand social studies textbooks and that all content on Libya was related to the climate and environment of the North African country and the presence of South Korean companies there.

The Education Ministry has reported its findings to the Foreign Ministry.

South Korea and Libya have been in the midst of a diplomatic row following Tripoli’s expulsion of a South Korean intelligence officer who was kicked out on charges of espionage in June.
