Taiwanese Vice President Xiao Wanchang says South Korea and Taiwan need to enhance cultural exchanges based on already established economic and trade relations.

Xiao made the remarks Friday in a meeting with the visiting chief of the main opposition Democratic Party's policy committee Chun Byung-hun.

Noting the popularity of South Korean pop culture in Taiwan, the vice president said that his nation’s youths have a favorable impression of South Korean culture, art, entertainment and food.
