The U.S. Navy says four commercial vessels docked near the southern Iraqi oil port of Basra have been robbed.

A spokesman for the U.S. Fifth Fleet based in Bahrain says two men armed with AK-47 rifles boarded the American-flagged Sagamore a week ago, where they spent 40 minutes robbing the vessel and its crew of cell phones, computers and money.

The North Korean-flagged Crystal Wave is known to have been robbed under similar circumstances in the vicinity around the same time. Also robbed were ships belonging to both Syria and the Caribbean island of Antigua.

No information about the identities of the robbers has been obtained.
