The mummified remains of two infants presumed to have died 80 years ago were found in an apartment basement near Koreatown in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The building manager and her friend found the babies in an old trunk in the basement of the Glen-Donald apartment building, east of Koreatown. Local police have launched a full investigation into the case.

The babies were wrapped in newspapers from the 1930s and placed in two doctor’s bags.
