S.Korean Killed by Gunmen in Manila

A South Korean man has died after being shot by gunmen in the outskirts of Manila early Monday.

The Foreign Ministry in Seoul says that according to local police, the gunmen cornered a car that the South Korean man, known only by his surname Cho, was driving. The gunmen shot Cho and kidnapped two other Koreans who were in the car. Police said the two were released soon after.

Cho is reportedly a missionary who was with a group of seven Koreans, including a pastor, when his car was stopped by the gunmen.

The ministry said it has yet to confirm the motives of the gunmen or the purpose of Cho’s stay in Manila.
