The Foreign Ministry in Seoul says two South Koreans will likely be cleared of charges of involvement in the case of a missing North Korean in Nepal.

A ministry official said that the Nepalese government is expected to release the two South Koreans soon.

He added that Nepal has accepted Seoul’s explanation that the South Koreans had nothing to do with the North Korean man’s decision to flee Nepal for India.

The North Korean Embassy in Nepal asked Nepalese authorities to investigate the flight of a North Korean man identified by his surname “Yang,” who had been working as a manager at the Nepalese branch of a North Korean restaurant chain.

North Korea claimed that the two South Koreans, identified as “Choi” and “Sun,” kidnapped the North Korean.
