US Vows Not to Resume Nuke Talks for 'Feel-good Notion'

The White House is reaffirming that it will not resume the six-way nuclear talks as long as North Korea refuses to abide by its international obligations.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Tuesday that “when and if the North Koreans are ever serious about living up to their obligations, then the U.S. can think about restarting six-party talks."

He added that the U.S. is not going to open talks just for the “feel-good notion” of doing so.

Gibbs’ comments come as Pyongyang has been showing appeasement gestures as of late.
