A Korean culture center in Kazakhstan will hold a number of events next year to promote Korea, as 2011 has been designated “Korea Year” in the central Asian country.

The center said Friday that it will organize next year exhibitions and concerts that introduce South Korean dramas, films and music to the people of Kazakhstan.

During the first half of next year, the center will hold a “Hallyu drama concert” and will invite the actors of Korean dramas that are popular in Kazakhstan and the singers of hit songs from the dramas to the event.

Kazakhstan’s top TV broadcasters have aired multiple Korean dramas including "Autumn Tale" and "Daejanggeum," or "Jewel in the Palace." Dramas that are currently being aired in Kazakhstan include “Dong Yi,” “The Birth of the Rich” and “Sorry, I Love You.”
