KCC Chief Chairs World IC Summit

Korea Communications Commission (KCC) Chairman Choi See-joong chaired the Seventh World Information and Communications Summit in Seoul on Wednesday. Choi discussed collaborative plans in the information and communications technology (ICT) field with ministers and vice ministers from 18 nations, including Brazil and Iran.

Choi said that Korean society is constantly developing, moving past convergence and onto a smart technology-driven society. He said that in order to respond to the changed trend, each government’s role and international collaboration are important in promoting the building and use of such a network infrastructure.

At the Korea Communications Conference that preceded the summit, Choi said that the key word for the second round of KCC’s policies is “smart.” He said that the KCC would proactively take on challenges and use opportunities arising from the “smart” society.
