South Korea and Vietnam have launched a joint online marketing campaign to put Jeju Island and Halong Bay on the list of the New Seven Wonder of the World.

The New7Wonders Foundation created the campaign in order to protect the world’s human built and natural heritage.

The Korean cultural center in Vietnam and Vietnam’s culture ministry on Thursday held an event in Hanoi to mark the launch of the campaign. Roughly 50 people attended including South Korea’s ambassador to Vietnam Ha Chan-ho.

The two sides decided to open a promotional Web site for Jeju and Halong Bay and to post promotional banners on the Web sites of the two nations’ culture ministries and relevant provincial governments.

The 28 finalists will be chosen by voters around the world and the winners will be announced on November eleventh.
