NK Leader Arrives in Nanjing

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il arrived in the eastern Chinese city of Nanjing on Tuesday, the fifth day of his visit to China.

Kim and his entourage left Yangzhou by car at 10 a.m. Tuesday and arrived in Nanjing an hour later. His special train also left Yangzhou for Nanjing.

At Nanjing, Kim is said to have visited Panda Electronics, a Chinese manufacturer for electronic products and an Olympic stadium located around the city.

Observers differ on Kim’s next destination, predicting that he might head for Shanghai or Beijing after wrapping up his schedule in Nanjing Tuesday.

The North Korean leader reportedly met with former Chinese President Jiang Zemin during his two-day stay in Yangzhou.
