Chinese media say that North Korea has begun domestically producing a computer called “Bulgeunbyeol” or Red Star.

Three models will be built including two for educational purposes and one for office use.

One of the two educational computers is a netbook-sized laptop and another is a desktop with a keyboard and a mouse.

The office-purposed computer is a small notebook with two USB ports and a battery that lasts two and a half hours.

North Korea began developing its own computer in 2006 by mobilizing electric and IT experts from Kim Il Sung University and Kim Chaek University of Technology.
