A latest survey on the cost of living from different parts of the globe finds that Seoul is the 19th most expensive city in the world.

The U.S. consulting firm Mercer on Tuesday released its annual ranking of the cost of living in 214 cities around the world, basing its survey according to the cost of some 200 items that include housing, transport, food and clothing.

Seoul, which ranked 14th last year, came in 19th this year after London. New York’s figure is set at 100 for a base index for comparisons.

Tokyo ranked second for the second consecutive year.
