US Regards Inter-Korean Meeting in Bali as Important Step

The U.S. says that it regards the two Korea’s latest denuclearization meeting in Bali as an important step.

It added that it will closely discuss follow-up measures with other six-party talk participants such as South Korea and Japan.

Foreign news outlets quoted a U.S. government official as saying that the meeting between the two Korea’s top nuclear envoys on Friday is an important move. The official is accompanying Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Bali, which is hosting the 18th ASEAN Regional Forum.

The U.S. official said that its next plan is to have extensive discussions with other concerned countries. Washington will first hold discussions with Seoul and then Japan before deciding on what to do next.
