S. Korean Automakers See Strong Sales in France

The French Automobile Manufacturers Committee says South Korean automobiles saw strong sales in France last month.

The committee said on Tuesday that French automakers, including PSA Peugeot Citroën and Renault, saw their sales drop nine-point-three percent last month, and overall sales of foreign carmakers fell one-point-two percent.

However, during the same period, Hyundai Motor and its sister company Kia Motors witnessed a sales jump. Kia sold around 21-hundred cars last month, marking a 19 percent increase from the same period last year. Hyundai sold some 14-hundred cars, posting growth of 18-point-eight percent from July 2010.

Kia saw sales grow nearly 19 percent and Hyundai around eleven percent in June as well.
