Protests against austerity measures are gaining strength throughout Europe as European governments enforce monetary tightening to fight their debt crises.

Over 100-thousand people took to the streets in Spain.

Protesters lashed out at the government saying how can they tighten their belts even more when the unemployment rate is nearing 25 percent. They called on officials to stop austerity measures that worsen the lives of the public.

Similar protests against belt-tightening measures also took place in the UK, Italy, Portugal and Hungary.
