Chinese City to Begin Tour to N. Korea's Mount Geumgang

A local newspaper in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China says a direct tour to North Korea will be launched next month.

The paper says tourists departing from the Yanji area in Yanbian will travel to the North's Geumgang Mountain.

The report says that a local travel agency holding exclusive rights to tours at the mountain will begin offering the travel package around mid-June. A four-day tour and a five-day tour are both being offered.

From Yanji Airport, tourists will fly to Pyongyang-Sunan International Airport and then onto the North Korean city of Wonsan. They will unpack in Wonsan and tour various Mount Geumgang sites including the Birobong Peak.
