US Delays Antidumping Ruling against S.Korean Washer Makers

The U.S. government has decided to delay a ruling on whether South Korean washing machine manufacturers committed unfair trade practices.

A diplomatic source in Washington said that the U.S.’s International Trade Administration chose to delay ruling on the antidumping case against Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics until July 27th. The judgment was initially scheduled for June sixth.

The decision was made at the request of U.S. home appliance maker Whirlpool, which noted that new facts were found recently and the Department of Commerce is still analyzing related materials.

Whirlpool filed antidumping and countervailing duty petitions against the South Korean washing machine manufacturers in January this year.
