A laid-off employee returned to his old job in Manhattan on Friday and shot a former coworker dead before confronting police and being killed in hail of gunfire.
CNN reports at least nine other people were injured in the incident that took place around 9 a.m. near the Empire State Building.
New York Police identified the shooter as 58-year-old Jeffrey Johnson and the slain victim as 41-year old Steven Ercolino.
