The U.S.' cutting-edge F-22 stealth fighter jets have arrived in South Korea.

The Wall Street Journal says F-22 fighters stationed at Kadena Air Base in Japan arrived at South Korea's Osan Air Base to take part in the Korea-U.S. joint military drills.

The F-22, a key U.S. combat asset, is known for its stealth capability to evade radar detection and high-tech weapons.

The U.S. military previously mobilized B-2 bombers and nuclear submarines for the combined Foal Eagle exercise.

U.S. media are skeptical of North Korea's capability to actually stage provocations but still expressing concerns over the possibility of a limited military clash.

News outlets say the U.S. is flaunting its firepower to assure allies of its commitment and to prevent North Korea from making a bad move.
