Gunmen attacked a gas field in Iraq operated by Korea Gas Corporation on Monday, killing two local workers and kidnapping one more.

The South Korean Embassy in Iraq said a group of armed men attacked a site within the Akkas gas field in Anbar Province on Monday evening where accommodations were being built for guards.

The Korea Gas Corporation said no South Korean employees were working on site during the attack.
