The top nuclear negotiators of South Korea and the U.S. met in Washington on Monday to address the North Korean nuclear issue.

Lim Sung-nam and U.S. Special Envoy for North Korean Policy Glyn Davies evaluated the situation on the Korean Peninsula following the North’s third nuclear test and discussed joint response measures.

The two officials reportedly talked in-depth on ways to ease tensions mounting on the Korean Peninsula since the UN Security Council slapped new sanctions on North Korea and Pyongyang declared it was nullifying the Korean War armistice.
