US Complains about Trade Barriers in China

The U.S. government is complaining that China limits U.S. companies’ access to its auto, steel and beef markets.

The U.S. Trade Representative said in a 2013 report on trade barriers that some progress has been made in China’s market opening, but fair trade is not yet guaranteed in some industries.

The U.S.’ trade deficit to China reached a record high of 315 billion U.S. dollars last year.

The USTR report also called on Japan to further open its auto, financial and parcel delivery markets.
