NYT Carries Kimchi Ad, Noting the US First Lady's a Fan

The New York Times has printed an advertisement for kimchi, highlighting that U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama is a big fan of the fermented Korean dish.

The ad titled “Kimchi? The First Lady's a Fan,” ran on page eight of the New York Times on Tuesday. It carried a message Michelle Obama posted recently on twitter saying she picked Napa cabbage in the garden and is now going to use it to make kimchi at home. The ad showed photos of kimchi in glass bottles that Obama had made.

It also read that “Korea's favorite dish is packed with micronutrients and vitamins but it's the taste people fall in love with.”

The latest ad was printed by Sungshin Women’s University professor and public relations expert Suh Gyung-duk after Obama posted a simple kimchi recipe on Twitter last month.
