China Calls for Dialogue Between Two Koreas

China is urging South and North Korea to ease tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

A source in Beijing said that Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui delivered the request in a meeting with South Korean Ambassador to China Lee Kyu-hyung and his North Korean counterpart Ji Jae-ryong at the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.

In particular, Zhang offered a grave warning to North Korea, stressing China is seriously worried about Pyongyang’s recent series of war-related remarks and acts.

Zhang called for the resumption of the six-party nuclear talks and inter-Korean dialogue, saying that problems should be resolved through dialogue and negotiations.
