Hyundai, Kia Recalling Nearly 1.9 Mln Vehicles in US

Hyundai Motor Company and its affiliate Kia Motors have launched a recall for around one-point-nine million vehicles in the United States.

Hyundai Motor will recall seven car models and Kia Motors six models produced between 2007 and 2011.

This is Hyundai Motor Company’s largest recall to date. The number of cars recalled in the U.S. will exceed annual domestic car sales in South Korea.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that around one-point-seven million Hyundai and Kia cars potentially have malfunctioning brake light switches and around 190-thousand cars have possible air bag problems, including the Hyundai Elantra.

An official of the South Korean automaker said that there have been no cases of malfunctions involving brakes.
