Roughly 23,000 to Attend Thatcher's Funeral

The British Prime Minister’s Office says roughly 23-hundred guests will attend the funeral ceremony for former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

The prime ministers’ office said Friday that all former U.S. presidents have been invited to the service. The office said that Queen Elizabeth the second, all former British prime ministers as well as former and incumbent ministers will attend.

Prominent figures of Britain’s culture sector, including composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, have also been invited.

Argentina's President Cristina Fernández was among those that did not make the guest list. Argentina is currently mired in a diplomatic conflict with Britain over the sovereignty of the Falkland islands.

Thatcher died at 87 following a stroke on Monday morning.
