S. Korea Ranks 27th in OECD's Better Life Index

South Korea has ranked 27th among 36 industrialized countries in an index measuring quality of life.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s Better life Index shows South Korea ranked high on criteria such as safety, civic engagement and education.

However, it ranked near the bottom on environment, work-life balance, health and life satisfaction.

Australia came in first for the third consecutive year, followed by Sweden and Canada.

The index released Tuesday ranks the world’s 36 developed economies on eleven criteria including jobs, income, environment and health every year.
