N. Korea's First Vice Foreign Minister to Visit China This Week

North Korea's First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye-kwan will visit China this week.

China’s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Hua Chunying announced on Monday that Kim and Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui will meet for strategic talks in Beijing on Wednesday.

Kim’s visit comes shortly after Pyongyang proposed high-level bilateral talks with the U.S. The last time Kim visited Beijing was in February when he held talks with U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Policy, Glyn Davies.
