China, US Discuss Positive Change on Korean Peninsula

China's Foreign Ministry says Minister Wang Yi spoke over the phone with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and discussed positive change occurring in Korean Peninsula affairs.

The positive change mentioned is believed to refer to North Korea's change of attitude in recent days, including its officials calling for dialogue during their visit to Beijing.

During the conversation, the Ministry says Wang also assessed the summit between U.S. President Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping as very successful. He said the meeting of the two leaders conveyed a positive signal around the world.
