N. Korea's Mission to Hold Press Conference at UN Friday

North Korea’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations (UN) says it will hold a news conference at UN headquarters in New York on Friday concerning recent situations on the Korean Peninsula.

UN sources say the news conference set for 10 a.m., local time, was requested by Pyongyang without prior notice, noting they have no further details.

North Korea’s Permanent Representative to the UN Sin Sun-ho is expected to speak at the conference.

Pyongyang hasn’t requested a news conference since 2010 when it discussed its position on the sinking of the South Korean naval corvette, Cheonan.

Attention is being drawn to whether the North will reveal its views on the latest collapse of inter-Korean government-level talks and the stalled six-way nuclear dialogue.
