European Parliament Members to Visit N. Korea

Radio Free Asia reports European Parliament Members on the Delegation for Relations with the Korean Peninsula will visit North Korea for five days from Monday.

The U.S.-based media outlet said the delegation will meet with vice ministers of the North's foreign, agriculture and public health ministries. The team will also meet with high-level military officials.

The delegation will also attend a dinner hosted by the North's Supreme People’s Assembly and visit Gaeseong and Panmunjeom.

Roughly ten European Parliament Members of the delegation, including the head delegate, Herbert Reul, will make the trip. They'll discuss in detail a number of issues including the improvement of human rights in North Korea, inter-Korean relations and the North's nuclear program.

The delegates will also visit South Korea after the trip to the North to meet with members of parliament.
