S. Korea to Adopt GPS Homing Bombs for Fighter Jets

Boeing and Kaman Aerospace Corporation of the U.S. have been chosen to produce GPS guided air-to-ground bombs for South Korea.

The state arms procurement agency said Monday that F-15K and KF-16s can be equipped with the smart bombs to enable precision attacks against North Korean artillery bases or hidden targets.

Boeing will manufacture the wings to carry the bombs and Kaman Aerospace will make the detonators and explosives.

The defense Acquisition Program Administration did not disclose the number and firing range of the bomb.
