The government will designate 250 vaccination centers nationwide for the administration of COVID-19 vaccines, which are believed to arrive in the country early next month.
Doses for 50-thousand people will first arrive from the COVAX Facility global alliance program, and the Pfizer vaccine will need to be stored at the recommended minus 70 degrees Celsius. Exclusive storage facilities are necessary to maintain this temperature.
Vaccination centers must be indoor venues that are publicly owned and managed. They must also have a self-power generator to operate vaccine freezers around the clock, and be accessible, close to a hospital and have ample parking space.
The government has so far selected 150 candidate sites with a final list to be compiled by next week.
Assuming that 600 people are vaccinated per center a day, this will require at least 22 personnel at each, resulting in a combined workforce of 55-hundred that includes medical staff.
