A pair of unidentified projectiles launched by North Korea are not believed to have fallen within Japan's territorial waters or exclusive economic zone(EEZ).

The Japan Coast Guard announced at 12:38 p.m. on Wednesday that a projectile, which could be a ballistic missile, was fired from North Korea. It announced that there was a second launch five minutes later.

According to Japanese public broadcaster NHK, Tokyo's Defense Ministry said the North's repeated projectile or missile launches are a serious issue that the international community must deal with.

The ministry pledged to exert efforts toward collecting and analyzing intelligence and maintaining vigilance.
