S. Korea's Exports Rise 22.9% in First 20 Days of Sept.

Exports rose by over 20 percent on-year in the first 20 days of September. 

According to tentative data from the Korea Customs Service on Thursday, the country’s outbound shipments stood at 36-point-one billion U.S. dollars in the cited period, up 22-point-nine percent from a year earlier. 

Average daily exports also grew by 31-point-three percent, with the number of working days decreasing by one from the same period last year. 

Shipments of semiconductors and petroleum products gained seven-point-seven percent and 95 percent, respectively, while ship exports dropped 54-point-one percent.

The nation witnessed growth in exports to most of its key trading partners, with shipments to the United States rising 24-point-nine percent and China 19-point-seven percent.

Imports increased 38-point-eight percent on-year to 34-point-nine billion dollars during the cited period.
