Defense officials from South Korea and the U.S. will hold a regular bilateral dialogue next week to discuss pending issues.

The Defense Ministry said the 20th Korea-U.S. Integrated Defense Dialogue(KIDD) will be held in Seoul on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

The two sides will share assessments on the region's security issues and ways to boost cooperation on the complete denuclearization of the peninsula and establishing permanent peace.

The meeting will also cover key security issues regarding the South Korea-U.S. alliance, including the conditions-based transfer of wartime operational control from the U.S. to South Korea.

In particular, participants will likely assess and discuss countermeasures to a series of missile launches by North Korea.

Based on discussions in the upcoming meeting, Seoul and Washington will hold additional talks at the 53rd Security Consultative Meeting which will kick off in November.
