The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) fell 34-point-79 points, or one-point-16 percent, on Wednesday, closing the day at two-thousand-962-point-42.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also fell, losing four-point-20 points, or zero-point-41 percent, to close at one-thousand-31-point-26.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened two-point-six won against the dollar, ending the day at one-thousand-182-point-five won.
